What a BMW DRL Module Actually Does
A daytime running light (DRL) module is a small plug-and-play unit that sits between your DRL wiring and the light, giving you control the factory setup doesn't offer. Depending on the module, you can turn the brightness up, setting your DRLs to dim on the indicating side when you signal so the turn signal reads clearly, or keep them running how you like. There's no coding software & no cutting required. It connects to the existing plugs and the change is reversible if you ever want to go back to stock.
Which DRL Module Is Right for Your BMW
The right one comes down to what's bugging you about the stock behavior:
- Brightness / boost modules - turn up the output of your DRLs or angel eyes for a sharper, more visible front end day and night.
- Dimming modules - drop the running light on the indicating side when you signal, so the turn signal isn't washed out by the DRL sitting next to it.
Check each product's listing for exactly what it controls, then match it to the change you're after.
Plug-and-Play Fitment
BMW's DRL wiring varies across chassis and model years, so a module that's plug-and-play on one car isn't always plug-and-play on another. Because of that, we stock specific DRL modules for specific BMW models making sure you're not stuck with issues when installing.
