The Best Mods for Your Mercedes E-Class / E63

The Best Mods for Your Mercedes E-Class / E63

The Mercedes  E-Class and E63 AMG aren’t just luxury sedans, they’re performance models with serious potential.

No matter which model you have - the W212, W213 or a brand new W214, these cars deliver a blend of comfort, aggression and reputation that’s hard to beat.

But, like most car enthusiasts, if you’re reading this you’re probably not happy with a standard stock model.

Aftermarket upgrades and modifications can take your E63 to the next level, whether that’s through enhanced styling, or unmatched power and performance.

There’s a huge range of mods that can completely transform your E-Class and we’ve compiled a list of the ones that are actually worth your time and money in this blog.

History of the Mercedes E-Class / E63

The Mercedes E-Class has continued to evolve over the past 15 years, both with its design and performance.

The 2010-2016 W212 introduced sharper lines and a more aggressive AMG identity, especially in the revamped facelift models. It was the last of the V8-powered E63s with rear-wheel drive, making it a crowd favourite.

In 2017, Mercedes launched the E-Class W213, bringing a sleeker, more refined design to market. Not only was the design enhanced, but the performance was second to none, with the E63 now coming with 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and up to 603 horsepower.

In 2021, Mercedes released a facelift model E63 AMG which had updated headlights, bumpers and some interior tweaks to keep it fresh and modern.

And finally, we’ve got the all new 2024+ W214 models, which takes the E-Class even further into luxury and digital innovation. With even more refined design, subtle AMG styling, and the most advanced technology we’ve seen yet, it’s clear this generation was focused on blending performance with a premium, future-ready driving experience.

With a history of all the E-Class models now understood, let’s take a closer look at how you can modify your car to really turn heads on the road.

Exterior Styling Mods for the E63

One of the best things about owning an E-Class is how easily you can make changes and therefore, make it your own.

Whether you’re going for a simple OEM+ refresh, or a full-on street weapon, the right styling mods will instantly elevate the look of your car and turn heads for the right reasons.

E63 Front Grilles

Swapping out your front grille is one of the quickest ways to change the face of your E-Class.

Most front grilles are simple to install with no real modifications needed and just a simple plug-and-play set up, so whether you’ve got a pre-facelift W212 or a brand-new W214, upgrading to a GTR-style or diamond grille can take your car from conservative to aggressive in literally minutes.

The GTR-style grille in particular has become a go-to for E63 owners. Grills with vertical slats bring an AMG GT-R motorsport vibe, and pair perfectly with a blacked-out badge or carbon front lip.

Diamond-style grilles, on the other hand, offer a more premium OEM look, especially if you’re going for a clean, modern aesthetic.

Front Lips & Lower Splitters

A front lip doesn’t just make your car look lower and wider - it sharpens the entire front of your car and adds some real street presence.

The carbon fiber front lips available for the E-Class are designed to sit flush with your factory bumper lines, meaning no weird gaps or awkward overhangs. They’re lightweight, functional, and make your car look super aggressive, especially on darker painted cars.

If you’re driving a newer W213 or W214, the new carbon lips match beautifully with the updated grilles. And if you're in an older W212, a front lip can instantly bring it into modern territory.

Pair it with bumper canards or fender trim if you want to go a little more aggressive, and your car really transforms the front of your vehicle.

Rear Spoilers

Spoilers are one of those mods that everyone loves - because they’re affordable, easy to install, and arguably one of the most impactful changes you can make to the look of your car.

From super subtle lips to aggressive ducktail-style designs, there are dozens of spoiler options available for the E-Class depending on your model and what looks you’re chasing.

If you’re chasing something a bit more classy, the OEM and V1 style spoilers sit flush on the trunk and blend perfectly with your Mercedes factory lines.

If you’re wanting something that stands out, Renntech-style, PSM-style, and C74-style spoilers are all larger, sharper, and give your rear end something to talk about.

These more aggressive styles are popular among E63 owners who want to match the look of their diffuser or quad exhausts.

The benefits of all of these styles is they typically just use 3M tape or simple bolts to attach - meaning you don’t need excessive (or any) drilling to install them.

Another simple change you can make is with a roof spoiler. Made specifically for the W214 2024+ model, our roof spoiler gives your E-Class a little extra edge from behind and a unique look you won’t see on many other cars.

Rear Diffusers

Rear diffusers are a fan-favourite for E-Class owners wanting a wider, more aggressive rear end - especially when paired with a performance exhaust.

They do serve a slight aerodynamic purpose helping manage the airflow under the car, but the main appeal has to be the visual impact it gives.

A well-designed diffuser enhances the shape of your bumper and ties together the rear of your car in a way that stock just can’t achieve.

In recent years, we’ve seen more demand for diffusers with integrated brake lights or quad tip cutouts. The fitment is spot-on and most will install with minimal trimming or modification needed.

Adding a rear diffuser to your E-Class suddenly changes the rear view of your car making it stand out almost more than the front.

Mirror Caps

Small details still matter and mirror caps are one of the quickest ways to visually upgrade your E-Class.

Swapping your factory mirror caps with gloss black or carbon fiber alternatives will help accent the rest of the vehicle and tie together all your other exterior mods.

They’re easy to snap-on with no need for any special tools and will instantly make your car look more premium.

Performance Mods for your E-Class

Out of the box, the E-Class doesn’t exactly lack power, but who doesn’t want to add even more?

If you want to wake up your E-Class and make it feel the way it looks, performance mods are the way to go.

The beauty of Mercedes turbocharged engines is how easily they respond to upgrades. A few bolt-ons and simple adjustments and you’ll feel the difference almost immediately.

Valved Sport Exhaust Systems

Nothing transforms your driving experience quite like a valved exhaust.

With one button, your E-Class goes from smooth and quiet, to loud and aggressive. This valved system makes it perfect for those who want a mix of daily driving or letting loose on the weekend.

Whether you’re driving an E63 AMG or an E200, a valved exhaust system helps reduce backpressure and gives you extra gains in throttle response and efficiency.

These systems are designed to bolt directly onto your factory mounts and depending on the model, you can customize with chrome or black tips to match your build.

If your stock exhaust just isn’t doing it for you, a valved system is the best upgrade you can make.

Downpipes

Downpipes are where the real performance gains start to show up.

Upgrading to a high-flow downpipe allows your turbo to spool faster, reducing backpressure and increasing horsepower, especially when paired with our performance upgrades.

These aren’t just for the E63. We’re seeing owners of E200, E300, E450 and E53s all opting for downpipe upgrades now, especially when aiming for a stage 1 or 2 tune.

As always, check your local emissions rules before installing as removing, disabling, or altering emissions equipment on a pollution-controlled road vehicle is illegal.

But if you’re looking to unlock power, this is where you start.

Air Intakes

Cold air intakes are an underrated mod that help your engine breathe better - pulling in cooler air from the outside to improve combustion.

With a fresh air intake, you’ll get better throttle response, slightly more power, and a much deeper induction sound. Pair this with an upgraded exhaust and you’ve got a car that feels sharper and more alive.

For E43, E53 and E450 owners, high-flow air intake kits are especially effective when paired with a tune and intercooler.

High Performance Intercoolers

Once you start adding power, cooling becomes a crucial component - and that’s where an upgraded intercooler comes in.

A larger, more efficient intercooler helps reduce intake temps, prevents heat soak, and helps your engine maintain consistent power during hard driving or hot days.

If you're planning on pushing your E-Class past its factory limits, a quality intercooler is a must.

It’s one of those modifications that doesn’t look like much on the surface, and isn’t that flashy, but it makes all the difference behind the scenes.

And if it’s pure performance you’re chasing, this is a must.

So, Which Mod Should You Get First?

The boring answer - that depends on what you’re chasing.

If you’re just wanting some visual upgrades to get started, and something that isn’t going to break the bank too much - a spoiler or front lip are great.

These are affordable, easy to install, and arguably have the biggest impact on your car's appearance.

If performance is your goal, and you’re happy to spend a little extra - you have to go with a valved sport exhaust.

It completely changes the driving experience, and it’s the perfect foundation to build on with future upgrades.
